The fellowship of Swindon Nepali Church started its journey as a house group from the house of Elder Kashi Rai when Peter Bisset moved to Swindon from Devon in 2008. Peter got in touch with Elder Kashi through Dr. Graham who had worked in Nepal through INF. Peter had also been working through INF in western Nepal  for over 30 years and had recently retired back to the UK. Later in 2009, Elder Bedlav Rai (Philip) retired from the army and settled down in Swindon and joined the group. Soon after, a number of Nepalese people, including families in Christ, started to move to Swindon from other parts of the UK and Nepal. With increased number of members in the house group, it was decided to start a service at a local St John’s Church in Park North, Swindon. Subsequently, a new group was established at St. Andrews Church in Walcot, Swindon under the name of Swindon Nepali Church. Apart from brief period in 2010, Swindon Nepali Church has been based in St. Andrews Church premises. 

Fellowship structure and administration

Swindon Nepali Church is led by a team made up of:

2. Assistant Pastor Jhapta John Sunuwar
3. Treasurer Shuba Kaji
4. Co-ordinator Kashi Rai
5. Youth leader Wangden Rai

We aim to run an orderly service amongst Nepali community, keeping the teachings of the Bible at the centre of everything we do.   We seek to create a fellowship where young and old, both in age and in Christ, can come together in peace to seek the ways of Jesus Christ.

Our services:

All of our services, except the women fellowship, are held at - St. Andrews Church, Raleigh Avenue, Swindon, SN3 3DZ. Our church services  are:

1. Saturday: 10:00 – 14:00 followed by light refreshment.
2. Friday: 10:00 – 12:00 Fasting Prayer
3. 17:00 – 19:00 (Summer time) ITEEN Bible study led by Dr John Sleggs.
4. Monday: 10:00 – 12:00 Women Fellowship (location Church)
5. Communion Service: Every 1st Saturday of the month. (10:00 - 14:00)
